What is the best way to get a job driving for FedEx or UPS?

1. For one thing they are two different companies. By that I mean, UPS is union, and FedEx drivers are contractors (get paid by the package). FedEx drivers also get paid less. I usually tell people the easiest and fastest way to become a driver is to get hired seasonally and if you're good enough they'll keep you as a driver. A lot of people go into pre-load or sort and try to become drivers and wait FOREVER!!. It's a good job. Long hours, hard work but GREAT pay, GREAT benefits. $30.00 an hour isn't too shabby for that kinda work. Hope I helped and if you have any other questions please feel free to e-mail me :)
2. Best way?? Work part-time and wait. Or get REALLY lucky and get the 1of every 6 outside hire. What that means is that by contract they have to promote 6 part-time employees to full-time before hiring anyone off the street. This might take forever as you have to wait for someone to quit (rare). retire, or get fired before they start hiring.
