Postal Letter

USPS boxes and labels?

Hello, I'm trying to ship a package. (I'm new to this) I was wondering if I am allowed to print or write my shipping addresses (Labels) at the usps office? I was also wondering if the boxes there are free? I'm located in SF, CA. Anyone from here that knows how this works, other places are fine too. I just need info. Thanks. I wanted to know if I went to the post office to get the boxes, will the boxes be free. I know online is free.

  1. if you want to print them you can go to http://www.usps.com. if not you can just write the address on the box. for the free boxes you will have to ship priority (2-3 days). $9.80 for a flat-rate box or you can ship things for under $5 if they fit in a free flat-rate cardboard envelope. you can order these supplies from the same website or pick them up at the post office.
  2. The only boxes that the USPS will provide at no charge, are those that are specifically for use with our Priority Mail service. There is also a box for Express Mail. If you wish to send by another class of mail, you will have to provide your own box, or purchase one of the Ready Post items that are available for sale.
