U.S. Postal Service, Lost Priority Mail?
I sent a very expensive letter using US Postal Service Priority Mail with a signature confirmation. The signature confirmation provides a tracking number. Wouldn't you know it, the mail carrier in AZ decided that my letter was not important and lost it. I am now out around $600. The letter was not insured, as I figured it being tracked would be enough incentive to the postal workers not to lose it. Wow was I wrong. Do I have any recourse at all to get my money back?

- No. You refused insurance, so you're out of luck. I'd say next time use UPS, but it's illegal to use it for personal correspondence.
- 'the mail carrier in AZ decided that my letter was not important and lost it.' Professional Letter Carriers do not think any mail is unimportant. Please do not say it so light-heartedly. Which mail carrier lost it? How do you know that it is lost? Did the carrier say they lost it, or are you assuming something? It is unwise to not insure or send 'registered mail' that has such value to it. Any additional info would be helpful to correctly answer the question.
