A question about Expedited shipping?

Okay, so I ordered some software from Amazon.com. It's apparently coming from Ohio. For shipping, they only had two simple options: "Standard Shipping" and "Expedited Shipping". I chose the expedited shipping. I received an e-mail that it was shipping this morning (Tuesday, July 10). It's coming "US Postal Service". I am near Atlanta, Georgia. About how long would it take to get here? Is it like a one-day or two-day shipping equivalent to UPS (United Parcel Service)? I know that places like UPS seem to be quicker and put theirs on planes...does the US Postal Service do the same? Sorry if that sounds dumb, but I don't really keep track of that stuff and haven't dealt with expedited shipping much at all. Thanks. :-) Sorry, I know this was probably posted in the wrong topic/area, but I wasn't sure what area to post it in and yahoo doesn't seem to have a category for this.

1. Yes the US Postal Sevice uses those crazy things that fly around in the sky, I think they are called jets. If Amazon sent them Priority it should take 2-3 days. Not a stupid question at all.
