what is the best free web based Email (other than Yahoo!)?

- gmail (google mail)
- Gmail, by far. It gives over 2 GB of storage, and it has a great "conversation view" feature that makes being on mailing lists or having an email discussion with multiple people much easier.
- Gmail. Its gives 2 GB of free storage (and keeps on increasing every day) but you can't email .exe files as attachments. Its takes a while getting used to since it uses the concept of "conversations" (and if you are used to Yahoo). You can also label conversations which is very handy since you can keep all emails related to the same topic (To and Reply) under one roof. Being in beta it also seems a bit archaic as compared to Yahoo mail. one advice though, GMail puts context-sensitive ads right beside your emails. So if you are reading an email regarding Las vegas, chanecs are that you might get an ad for traveling to Vegas right beside the email.
- Gmail is the best free webmail service. Yeah it has got more storage than (any?) other webmail service. Yes it is growing everyday. Yes it has the brilliant conversation view to keep your emails organised. Yeah it also has labels to make filing simpler. Yeah it auto-completes address, has a great search to find any message, removes spam from your mail and serves up new features regularly (recently: mobile mail, vacation responder, contact groups, web clips ...). But none of them are the killer thing about Gmail. Yeah Gmail provides all of the above, and in a way better than (most) other service but most importantly it also has a simply awesome interface. Gmail is really responsive, quick to load and very easy to use. It uses JavaScript a lot (it is basically all written in JavaScript) to make the whole procedure smooth and fast. But of course if you are in an old browser you can use the basic view. So Gmail is the service you are looking for. It has the best search, storage, filing and interface around. You wont regret switching.
- AOL mail...i heard is pretty good and free. Also...Gmail is deffently up there
