What is that strange pop up icon?

It pops up on my browser page as I'm trying to access (clicking on a link) to bring up the write mail window on my web based email service (not a free one), when I try to run pagebuilder in geocities and when I try to use the free tech support online chat option at McAfeehelp.com. It looks like a little browser page with an orange/yellowish kind of square in the lower right hand corner of that, with a big red "X" across that orange/yellowish box. What is that'? I've tried lowering my security and privacy settings in the explorer settings. That didn't work. Went to add/remove programs and removed all toolbars. That didn't help either. Thank you for your help.

  1. click it ... the bar and see what it says. it might just be asking you to install an active x control or applet. if u trust the site then accept it and it will stop coming on and let u go through to your page.
  2. Look here.
  3. What you are seeing is a small widow that loads the chat program in mcafee and pagebuilder in geocities (yahoo) you need to allow pop-up windows for both those sites. Don't lower your settings. Go to Internet options - privacy - pop-up blocker settings - add the web sites *.mcafee.com and pagebuilder.yahoo.com or (*.yahoo.com) the asterisk is a wild card for any name. This will let them load properly. PS. make sure you have current java. http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
