post office job/ postal battery exam?

Ok, so to make this short, I found a ad in the PennySaver Magazine about a postal job, $20/hr + benefits. I called the number 1-800-584-1775 and it was USWA, an Exam Services place and he told me that I will have to take a exam (postal battery exam) in order to get a job with the post office. The cost of that will be $100, 240 pages and 4 sections to the test. He also say that you will need to score a 70 or higher to past the exam but a 90 to get a interview. They will also refund back your money if you don't pass the exam, you get the interview but did not get the job, and if you get the job and you work that for a week. Anyways, I end up paying for it. He also gave me my confirmation number and a customer care number if I had any question regarding the exam. So to make that this wasn't a scam..I called the customer care number and gave them my confirmation number and surely she had my info. So, has anyone goes through this and is it legitimate?

  1. I found a news report saying it wasn't affiliated with the USPS.
  2. I just called about the same job. They told me the same thing. I briefly talked to my mom about it and she thought it was a scam. So after doing some research for myself (and my mom checking with a friend who works for the postal service) I've come to the conclusion that it's a scam of some sort. From what I read and what i was told by my moms friend, you dont have to pay to take the battery exam. Here's a link and you can go read about it yourself. If you wanna know anything else just write me back. Take care. .jake. http://www.federaljobs.net/usps.htm
