Postal Letter

What are the chances of getting a job at the Postal Office?

I recently applied for a position and they sent me a study guide since I was required to take a test before they could call me in to take the typing test (that is, if I passed the test). It has been over a month and they have not sent me my scores. They said that they would send the scores even if you failed..could it be that there were too many people that applied for the job? Has this happened to anybody? I recently drove by the Postal Office and they were STILL offering the job. And on the day that I took the test there were over 50 people...

  1. Ex military guys and gals are the shoe in's for those jobs. I took the test and got a high score but they never contacted me. The military people get loads of "points" which pretty much gaurantees them the position regardless of their scores.
  2. Ok 1 job offer. 50 people applied. thats like a 2% chance. and if you failed the test then its 0%.
  3. My son-in-law works for the USPS. He took the test, waited and waited, finally went to truck driving school. Graduated, got a job driving a truck and the post office called and said he was hired but he had to respond within 2 days. He had to take a plane home. So, don't be afraid to take something else. He makes good money now and has great benefits, but that might be why 50 people take the test at one time. Most people have just gone to work somewhere else by the time they hear back from them.
