Postal Letter

I passed the postal battery exam. What happens now?

Last month, I took my postal battery exam. I felt pretty confident I would pass it, and a month later I got my test results. They told me I passed with a 90.10 which is pretty good. All my obsessive studying and dedication really paid off. So now I just need to know what I'm supposed to do know. Do I wait for a phone call from the post office in my city to call me back for an interview or am I supposed to call around and try to get a job now? So far, I only know basic things to expect if I should get the job, like how I am supposed to sort through the mail, bring my own car, and that they pay you for every mile driven on your route, etc. If anyone has any information on this, feel free to message me on AIM @ zeropointfont. Right now, I have a part time job at wal mart making 9.10 an hour, working between 33 and 37 hours a week (I put in extra hours because I need the money). It's likely I'll have to quit this job to work for the usps but I'm prepared to make that sacrifice.

  1. Even if the offices are supposed to call you, making calls yourself will definitly show that you are motivated to start working. I'd start getting in touch with local offices if I were you. Good luck!

  3. There's no sacrifice when you leave Wal-Mart to go work for the post office, because the usps is a better job. I've heard the post office hires you based upon your test scores. If you scored fairly well, you should get a call real soon. Real soon could mean about 3 or 4 months. I don't think there's anything you can do to speed up the process, they'll call you when they have something available. The best thing for you to do right now is continue working for wal mart and wait until they call.
