Does USPS hire night staff?
I'm a college student trying to look for a job and many people told me to try the postal office. But the thing is I have class in the afternoon.. Does anyone know if USPS hires people for night work or very early in the morning to noon? I know I have to get tested first, but I can't find any other information about the hours that they hire for? Will I also be able to pick my hours? Thanks What are the hours for the casual workers and how can I apply?

- Larger facilities like Processing and Distribution Facilities, operate 24/7. Ususally the midnight shift is where there are the most workers. You can look at being hired as a Casual Employee. There is no test required, but this will not usually lead to a Career Appointment. Because there is no test required, the pay is lower and there are no benefits at all. Most Casual hires work the midnight shift. Because Casuals are the lowest of the low, they work the most and the worst hours. We have had many students work as casuals, but none of them could handle the work as well as a full time school course load. You really do not have a choice of what hours you work. You can express a preference, but if you are offered a position, you either take it or leave it. You can make a good bit of cash, but you do work for it.
