Postal Letter

Office sex/political dilemna?

At work, my supervisor takes off for hours at a time. Some nights she'll leave for a couple hours, and the longest she'd been gone was 5.5 hours. She has been "hanging out" with the network guy, and just last night I got confirmation from a coworker that this was indeed an affair (her husband had called in and said so). I've started keeping a spreadsheet of when she leaves and returns. One problem with this is what if hubby comes in and goes postal on us? This is a help desk located right by an unlocked employee entrance. Another problem is I want the network guy's job. I'm just 23 but am more qualified for that guy's job than he is. I sincerely do not want to be a "rat", and only 4 others know about this affair right now. This is violating a slew of company rules. If I did report this and then subsequently put in for the networking job wouldn't Iook bad? How do you deal with this sort of situation? BTW, there is a level 3 who is more qualified for the supervisor's job. gsschulte: Doing my business? We have a supervisor who leaves every night to "f*ck around" with some guy, instead of doing her job. I've been reprimanded for far less. I wasn't looking for a weakness. She just started disappearing one night and has been taking off every night since, and hasn't done much to hide this. They took the same nights off for vacation time, they called out within 5 minutes of each other. I'm not a rat, and neither are the people I work with (this is third shif and more than 99% of the deparment don't work with us). I think she is taking advantage of us.
