- Give a ring and find out what you can. Government jobs can be terrific.
- They are middle men who charge you a fee to teach you how to take the tests . Go take the tests yourself for free https://uspsapps.hr-services.org/ http://www.federaljobs.net/usps.htm >
- In most cases these are schools that run the advertisement so they can sign you up for training to pass the postal exam. The courses are not cheap. Most of these schools will guarantee you to pass the test. I applied in 1972 when I got out of the Military and I could not afford it then.
- I answered an ad similar to these years ago. What it turned out to be was a company who charges you a lot of $ to prepare you for the civil service tests. We went to a hotel and they gave us a presentation and then we were given info. to sign up (and pay) for the classes. I cannot remember how much it cost, but for some reason $300 is in my mind. You can call and see if this is the same. We were given one day as the day to come in and a choice of morning or evening. No kids were allowed and you had to bring a pencil. :) I am not sure how much it costs to take a federal civil service test, if it even does. My state and county charge 15.00 for those tests. Be careful!
