How large are postal code units in UK?
The smallest entity for a postal code in the UK is the postal code unit. I read that a unit contains from 1 to about 100 unique delivery points, with an average of 15, but I did not find information about the geographic extent of postal code units. Is a postal code unit always bound to one street, or may it contain many streets?

- No more than a whole street. However, a long street or one with lots of different residences may have more than one. For instance a number of flats in the same building my have its own unique postcode, while other addresses on the street have different ones.
- Yes - a post code is never more than one street - sometimes there are more than one to a street - a medium length street may have a different code for each side of the road. A very long street will be split into blocks of 20-50 houses. A large block of flats (apartments) may have one code for the whole building. Many large premises like schools, factories, office block will have their own unique post code. ..
