How do you apply to become a mailman?
Is there someplace online you can look, or do you have to go into a post office and find out?

- It should be posted in the post office, but I would thing that going to usps.gov would have a link on there about postal service jobs as well. I think the apply process is entirely computer based.
- I'd ask my post office just to be sure.
- You can apply online. http://www.usps.com/employment/welcome.htm if that doesn't work go to google and type in united states postal service jobs. The first option is the right one.
- For a permanent position: go to the usps website and follow the directions they offer and they will send you a packet of information with a practice test, date and time to take the test. once you take the test you must wait a few month till the testing and job announcement is closed. If you score over 80% your name will be put into a group of people that are eligible for postal employment( you will be reached in order of your score 100 first then lower scores after). The contact will be in the form of another pack of paper to be filled out with relevant previous employment info. then you send that back and wait for your in person interview. Some local post offices will offer part time carrier positions that are non permanent on a walk-in,apply, interview basis. those jobs generally start at about 17-19 $ an hour. you must have a clean driving record, drug test and they will do a background check as it is a government job. the rub with these types of jobs is that you can lose them at any moment to a person that has tested Good luck. im waiting for my in-person interview now i scored 89 and tested 18 months ago in the D.C. area
- Go to the website for the usps and click careers! They do hire people without taking tests as temporary carriers ~ they are called casuals!
