The new laptop damaged during shipping. What I should do?
I bought a laptop from eBay couple days ago. Unfortunatelty, the left side of laptop screen broken and have a crack during the shipping by USPS. The laptop still can work. This laptop was bought with 1 year warraty, but I do not know if such accidental damage during the shipping is covered by the SONY warranty? If yes, should my laptop get repair free? or If not, what I should do? The shipping was insured so I could claim to get some money back from USPS? please advise and thanks a lot?

- send it back and get your money back
- If the shipping was insured, go back to the seller and get the insurance information. USPS will cover insured items damaged in shipment.
- im sure it is. if they shipped it to you and they broke it and wont repair it then that is like giving you something damaged and you can return it or you can ask for them to fix it. either way, it will be done or they r retarted and if they dont fix it or let u return it for a new on fro free then they are retarted.
- Tough question Sony wont touch it as its not there fault as the laptop has not suffered a manufacturing or hardware defect/fault. The Company on ebay may be responsible if you think that the packaging was not suffecient enough to protect it. 1st port of call it to contact them. Take photos or the laptop and the box and then both together exactly as you got it. IN FUTURE. when signing for anything always write UNCHECKED so you have more grounds. as it is, u saw the condtion of the packaging and still signed for it, you could have refused to accept it, and the courior would have taken it away OR you could have asked him to wait whilst you inspect it before signing thus gaining a witness. Luckily the shipping was insured for more than a mere £50 or £100. In all i would contact the Company you bought it from, tell them you want to email some photos of the box and laptop and ask them for help. G.Luck remember UNCHECKED from now on if you dont have time to inspect the item before the driver leaves
