- 1. Save up money to where you'll have enough to rent a open, small building. Also make sure you'll be able to afford any repairs or decorations. 2. Start a budget. 3. Employ workers to carry out the jobs needed to have a successful business.

- Im not sure what a hot shot delivery business is, but starting any business has a few basic steps. #1: Do some research.. lot of research! Make sure you understand the ins and outs of the industry. Make sure to look into local, state and federal laws that may affect you. Find out if you need a license or certification. Talk to other in the business. Learn about your competition. #2: Make a business plan. It is important to have a plan to follow. Your plan may change along the way, but it is always good to have a strong idea of what path you will follow. There are many resources for writing a business plan, one of the best being: http://www.sba.gov/ #3: Find investors. Im not sure how much capitol you will need to get started, you will know when you prepare your business plan, but it is usually a better idea to get investors than to invest your own money... trust me, Ive learned the hard way! #4: Follow through with your business plan. Make sure to keep your promises to investors and other interested parties. Get your certifications, licenses, and anything else you might need. #5: Network and advertise... you have to live, eat, and sleep your business for the first couple years in order to succeed. You will always need to have a business card on hand. Attend conventions, meeting, or anything else where you might be connections or potential customers. #6: Never give up! It may take you several tries and several failure before you succeed. However, if you give up, you a re guaranteed to fail! Don't get in over your head. If you have no experience managing people, you don't want to hire 50 employees. Some times, you can start a business with little experience, but often, it is worth it to gain experience in management in general. Try getting a supervising position where you will be in charge of several people as well as a lot of paper work... owning a business means lots of paper work! On that note, as soon as you can, hire a CPA (accountant) to help you manage your finances.. unless you have a degree in accounting or finance.. it is a real pain to learn all of that on your own! Good luck to you! If you need more resources, let me know.. I have tons of links as well as good books to recommend.
