Has the USPS lied about the forever stamp by announcing that they are raising the price by 1 cent ? on both ?

I thought the forever stamp was going to stave off future increases ?

1. No, the "Forever Stamp" was never sold as a lock on stamp prices... It just means that when you buy a $0.42 stamp today, it will still be good in 100 years when they cost $42.00. They are good because we don't have to buy them stupid penny stamps to use old stamps after an increase.
2. I guess I missed that promise. I just expect that they are going to rape us for another penny/letter about once a year. torque...the price of a stamp goes up a penny and you think we have become Nazi Germany? WOW!!! That is a stretch!
3. No you can still use the stamp even though the price went up. It's good "forever". You just wont be able to buy it anymore at the cheaper price.
4. It will save you the cost of the increases if you buy them now. If you use the stamp after the increase it will still work.
5. Buy 1000 forever stamps now at 41 cents each. They are good forever, no matter the cost of postage when you want to use them.

7. It's supposed to be FOREVER. But I'd asked the fellow who works at the P.O. about it, and his reply was "nothing is forever". Who knows?
8. No, it does not mean stamp prices will never go up. All it means is that you can use the forever stamps after the increase. You don't need to by 1 cent stamps or new stamps. Once you run out of forever stamps, more stamps (forever or otherwise) will cost the new price.

12. No, they didn't lie. The Forever Stamp is good regardless of the cost increase, you just cannot but them at the lower cost. USPS should improve their service BEFORE raising the cost of Postage, D'uh!
