What is involved in being a USPS employee?

I was thinking about working as a mail man once I graduate from High School this coming June. What is required to be a mail man, and what are the chances I would get hired. This is in Texas BTW, Conroe Texas to be more exact.

1. You will have to take a Civil Service Exam, specifically a post office exam and after passing that, you wait for a slot to apply for
2. you only need a high school diploma and USPO they're always hiring
3. What is required to be a USPS employee? Being proficient at delivering the mail a week and a half after it was dropped in a mail box across town!
