Mailing packages to APO address?
I have been told that the US Postal service has special rates for mailing packages to service men and women, currently deployed. Is this true and if so, how do I do it. My daughters 6th grade class has approx. 28 packages that need to be sent to 28 different Soldiers. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

- The post office has a large flat rate box that will ship for 10.95 to an APO/FPO address. It says "America supports you" on the box, so it isn't a regular flat rate box. I'm not sure if you get them at the post office, I've always ordered mine online (they are free).
- the Flat Rate boxes.. the largest size has a special military rate going to APO and FPO addresses. just ask at the post office or order them online.
- Just go to the post office and ask for them:) I never send anything over seas with a flat rate box. Just shipping packages priority mail are cheaper, for me anyways. It has never cost me more than about 6$ to send a package overseas. Depending on how much it weighs though.. flat rate would be a way to go .. but if its not freakishly heavy .. priority may be cheaper
- this will work for you if you live by any military base... Ask a soldier that you know if they mind sending them from post, since it's free to send packages 70 lbs and smaller from military post to another military post... it'll save you a ton of money, and that means that you can use the extra money to send more packages.. by the way baby wipes, tuna fish and beef jerkey are always favorites
