what are some jobs with little social interaction?
ok, here is the thing, i have severe social anxiety. what are some jobs where i can work alone with fairly decent pay. i was thinking like a fedex truck driver or a private security guard. does anyone know the qualifications or if its difficult to get either of those jobs.

- I am thinking about becoming a truck driver. Truck drivers only interact with the dispatcher, supervisor or client. Trucking is a totally different career than a security officer. I work as a security officer and there is not any future in the job. Become a truck driver because there is a future in the work and you will be doing something meaningful. Additionally, you will be paid respectably. Before you decide to become a truck driver, study for your state's CDL written driver's license test. After that, decide how you want to learn to drive a truck. Most trucking companies will hire graduates from prestigious trucking schools such as Smith and Solomon. The tuition is approximately $4000 for most schools. Some truck companies will train you without charging you for tuition. You will need a solid work history (good employment record for at least 3years), be at least 21years old, have at least three years of regular vehicle driving experience, no more than two or three vehicle violations and no more than two or three preventable accidents within the past 3years on your driving record. Felonies and misdermeanors might disqualify you from most truck driving jobs. Truck driving jobs are not hard to get and pay well because of the nature of the work. Your first year of trucking driving will be "over the road." As a result, you will be home for a maximum time of four days per two weeks or one day per week. After you get at least one year of truck driving experience, better truck driving jobs will become available.
- Have you considered trying to work through the anxiety? I know what you're talking about although I wouldn't consider mine severe. What helps me is lots of self-talk and practice. There are jobs such as postal workers, computer programmers, and data entry work and janitorial that would fit your requirements - the only thing is, you'll still have to deal with some people and have some politics, so it might open more doors if you can work through some of the issues.
- How about an offshore job? working on an oil rig has excellent pay and obviously away from social circles. You could worse than to try http://www.oilandgasjobsearch.com. Hope that helps Duncan
