Is there a way to ship something via USPS from USA to Australia and get a real tracking number?

USPS seems to be slow at updating international tracking numbers. How can I make sure the tracking number actually updates when the package is delivered?

1. Never use USPS for something like this. Use FedEx or other overnight carriers to get a tracking number.
2. It seems that only the expensive services such as global express offer any tracking information . Most businesses use UPS or Fed Ex for international shipments because they have better tracking and insurance available .
