Will the US Post office still mail an envelope even though it is 12x9 instead of 9x12?

I put the labels on an envelope so the paper is portrait, instead of lanscape. Will the post office still accept this?

5. Yes they will accept it. Their rules have changed about measurements, so you should take it in personally and pay at the desk. You said you put labels on it. Does that mean you paid online? I know they charge more if the address label is pasted on the envelope vertically instead of horizontally. It is no longer just based on weight. You might want to call your post office to be sure about the postage amount, but yes, they will accept it.
