Do fedex ground packages sometimes arrive sooner than the scheduled arrival date?

I am expecting a package to be delivered by fedex ground. It is coming from CA to MA. The company from which I ordered the pkg only charged me $10.15 for shipping. I ordered the pkg on 12/17 and the fedex website says the scheduled day of arrival is 12/27. I am wondering if there is any chance that the pkg may arrive sooner, hopefully by xmas.

  1. In your case, there is not a very good chance due to all the business during xmas.
  2. Possibly. If you get lucky.
  3. The last time I ordered something through Fed Ex it showed up about 3 months after the scheduled delivery date because they lost it. I would say its possible but you would be lucky to have it by the scheduled date. I think I did receive something from them sooner than the scheduled once but that was a long time ago. This time of year they are busy so don't bet on it.
  4. Its possible but since it is the holidays your chances are very slim.
  5. No jackie, we are not USPS, where it just arrives when it arrives, With fdx xp we do stick to our schedule but fdx ground is literally ground they go across the country in those semi trucks and stop by every major city on their way. We both, ground and express have a rule that we will give you your money if not delivered by due time, but it is cancelled/suspended during "peak" for about two weeks, sorry. So the answer is no, 5% chance you will get by then. But we heavy loads of packages, millions a day! For future reference ship or order an item 10 business days in advance!
