Postal Letter

How do you get something shipped to a post office?

I need something shipped to a post office instead of my home, How do I do that? Do I just put the address of the post office in for the shipping address?

  1. You might want to rent a P.O box from the post office. That way all of your mails will be sent to your P.O Box and you can check it at your convience. Go to the post office and apply for one. Keep in mind that they charge a fee.
  2. You can't do this. The post office won't know what to do with this package. Call them and make sure; however, I doubt this could ever happen. You can go to one of those pack and ship places that have post office boxes and rent one while you wait for the package. They will accept packages while your post office might not - and some places won't ship to a P.O. Box.
  3. Okay, there are a few ways to do this. The most obvious, of course...rent a Post Office Box. But maybe this is a 1 time thing? In that case...there are a couple other possibilities. You can ship the parcel as a "register". The mail carrier may attempt to deliver it, however if you are not home to accept the package in person, he will return the parcel to the post office. A notice will be left in your mailbox. You take this notice to your local PO and pick up your package. Also..."Signature confirmation" and "Express Mail" have similar circumstances. If you're not home or unavailable to sign for the package, the carrier will leave a notice in your box. And you can pick it up at the PO. Just know, the notice left in your box will NOT disclose the contents of package, but possibly the senders name. Send me a message for more info on these shipping methods.
