Retired military pension VS postal employment?

I am receiving military retirement pay after 20+ years of active duty with a 10% disabled rating. If I take a post office position, how does this affect my retirement pay, if at all. And what could I expect for vacation time initially. Is there a web site that explains these Post Office benefits for military retirees? Thanks in advance for your replies.

  1. The postal service is under the federal retirement system. It won't touch your retired pay; you can draw both concurrently. The second link will show your vacation time accrual.
  2. Your post-USAF employment will not affect your military retirement pay or any VA disability that you receive. The only exception to this is if you are a VERY highly paid federal official where the limits of Level-II of the SES could kick in. The limitations would be applied to your Civil Service paycheck, not your military retirement or disability.
