Do you have to contact your local postmaster to use the USPS general delivery service?
I would like to have my package sent general delivery so I can pick it up at the post office. This is a birthday present and therefore a one time thing. Do I have to contact my local postmaster to ask permission? And what would happen if I don't contact him and the package simply arrives? Finally, are minors permitted to use this service?

- Are you buying salvia? Nevermind.... if you send it to the PO without your address, they will likely open it and then return it if it's not something they ordered. All you can do is talk to your carrier and ask him/her to intercept the package, but don't be surprised if they tell you parents.
- General Delivery is a great choice for you if carrier service or a PO Box is not an option. Your mail will be held at your Main Post Office for up to 30 days and can be conveniently picked up at any retail window. This is also a great option if you don’t have a permanent address. To find your Main Post Office, please contact your local Postmaster.
