How do I start sending and receiving mail from my yahoo account?

I have a new yahoo i.d. and new e-mail address but cannot send nor receive e-mails. Can someone please tell me how to start sending and receiving my mail please. I have gone to options and filled it in but I still don't have a From field on my outgoing e-mails. Can someone help me please..

1. To send an email just click on "New". Left of screen next to "check mail". Type in the address or click "To" to bring up your address book, if you have one saved. Your outgoing mail does not have a From field. I hope this helps.
