How do you get the mail icon in the bottom right corner back for Outlook?

This is a question on behalf of my Dad. He's clicked on something and lost the icon that appears at the bottom right to tell you that you have mail. Does anyone know how to get it back? JA12 - you rock. And yes, I have gone through a LOT of points today! Still can't sort the Outlook thing though.Grrr.

1. Close Outlook and re-open it. Try that first. If that doesn't work then you need to check the option that adds Outlook to the System Tray in Options. Options>Preferences>E-mail options>Advanced E-mail options>Show an envelope icon in the System Tray
