Fedex tracking updates?

I purchased a pair of shoes on eBay about a few days ago, and I received a tracking number so I went on Fedex's official tracking website and it updated for a couple of days. It has not updated since 9/13 and I was wondering if this is normal, since I am new to eBay as well as Fedex. I am aware that there is a notice that states that in some states or cities that updates may be delayed but the item is shipping from North Carolina so I do not know if it affects the delivery. Please let me know if you've experienced or are currently experiencing this because I am worried, thanks!

1. whats the tracking number its also possible due to Hurricane IKe there might be some transmission problems and whre are you? where is the package coming from? where is the package going have you tried calling them?
2. i worked for a mail order company so i have a lot of experience regarding tracking information. they do not update tracking (unless you're lucky!) on the weekends because most of them don't run on those days. fedex (depending on if it's fedex home or fedex ground) doesn't deliver on mondays either so don't expect it to update. that doesn't mean that the package isn't MOVING or that it's stuck somewhere but the site just wont be updated. my suggestion would be that if there is still no update by tuesday, call fedex with the tracking # and they should be able to tell you if the package was damaged etc (they usually dont update that information online until it's on its way back to the original shipper.)
3. Just suppose you are in Detroit.OK? Your shipment may have been shipped from North Carolina to Michigan in a trailer which is on a rail car (( TOFC- Trailer on Flat car) It leaves NC on 9/.13, but doesn't arrive in Michigan until 9./16.That;s when it will be updated, and that;ls why it seems nothing is happening for a couple days. So, meanwhile, don;t worry. Check it Tuesday and see where it is. If there is no update, it means that rail car is still en route.
