Shipping on an Ebay Item - Help!!!!?
Ok, I was equally surprised that after one day, someone had already bought my item after posting it for just 1 day! This is my first EBay sell. Problem is, it's an international purchase. The client is located in Nigeria. So I went to the USPS website and they gave me a calculation of sending the package at the weight to Nigeria as $40.00, not bad. I did on the add list it as a 1-3 delivery but that was only in the US. So I think he'll understand that upping the delivery time to 6 - 10 days and waving his shipping cost would be understandable. Problem is, I put the item up as a calculated shipment depending on where you are in the US so it has a field that asks for the shipment rate. The price he paid for it included the shipping cost that I needed covered so do I just set the shipment field to $0.00 ?

- A lot of companies do not ship to Nigeria and I would be leary to do so. You can set it to US only buyers when you make your listing. I don't think you need to waive his shipping cost. You should write him and say that since he is an international buyer, his shipping cost will be increased to 40USD and ask him if he would like to proceed with the order. If he does not, then re-list it.
- Yes if your shipping costs were covered in the buying price, you can set the field to $0. You listed it as a 1-3 day. If they ask about time, just explain that time was for a U.S. shipment. 6-10 delivery time is still not bad for an international delivery
- I agree with the person above. I wouldn't ship anything to Nigeria. Is he offering to pay you more for the item than it was listed for with a cashier's check, money order, etc? If so, stay far, far, away and report this person. This is a scam. You do not have to sell to this person and you should absolutely report them to e-bay so that they can be deleted. Do they have any feedback? You need to look at that too. These people go on there and create multiple identities and they are thieves wanting to just take your money...
