When mail forwarding, does the postal office automatically notify the sender of recipient's new address?
If someone mailed me a letter to my old address and the postal office forwarded it to my new address, does the postal office also automatically notify the sender of my new address? (this question is meant for the USA only)

- no, they just send you the enveloped and it is stamped "forwarded" on the envelope.. they cant give out your address, what if they gave your address to a crazy stalker, you could sue. you should contact everyone who you want to have your new address, like for your bills and such to ensure it is logged into their systems.
- No they don't and if it is financial, state, governemnt, etc... mail they will not forward it for security purposes. So, if I were you I would call or fill out the invoice section for address changes for all companies in which you do business with! Have a good day!
