Postal Letter

I want to forward a piece of mail to my home address...is this lawful?

I had a question on the rules for forwarding a piece of postal mail. I ordered a CD online and asked the seller to send it to my home address...Instead, he sent it to my college address (where I am right now). It was meant as a gift for my mom back home. Would I be able to forward the package to my home address if I haven't opened it and have had it for about a week? Thanks!

  1. of course you can. You can forward a package anywhere, as long as you authorize it. if you said you could do it, that's all it takes. Just put on there that the wrong address is on the box and put the correct address on there, and it will make it. The post office may charge you a fee, but it's only a CD, can't cost too much.
  2. Since you have the package 'forwarding' is not the proper term at this point. Being you have the package you have to mail to her. You can mail it without a return address if that is what you are trying to hide. But at this point you can only simply mail it to her.
