Postal Letter

How do I find out where my son is stationed? He is in the US Army? I haven't heard from him since 01/2006.

The last address I have for him is in S.Korea. I sent him some mail that came back with a postal stamp that said "forwarding order". He is in the Armored BN, unit 15084.

1. I have no idea.. sorry.. even people serving in Iraq have the opportunity to call, email, and IM their families and friends...
2. you can request a Red Cross Health and Welfare message. You will need his full name, rank, social secuirty number and last known Duty Station. the Red Cross MIGHT be able to track him down. BUT and there's the kicker.. the ARC and his command MAY NOT force him to contact you. so if he doesn't want to get in touch, he cannot be forced to do so.
3. Have you tried talking to the American Red Cross, when I was acive they were who we went to in order to get information and emergency messages through and if I hadn't heard from him in 9 months I would consider it an emergency.

5. Contact the American Red Cross (they help families locate servicemen).
6. I will agree, all army people even in the most remote bases in combat have regular ability to mail letters, make phone calls, use the internet and more. It sounds and I know it sounds bad that he is just not calling or writing you of his own choice. If you have some emergancy you can contact the Red Cross and see if they have any info.
7. I guess you can ask the Army. If something had happened you would have been notified! You can also get a hold of the Red Cross! Some people in S Korea were shipped to Iraq, among other places! Though with the Sabre rattling of N Korea, who knows! When I was there we had 2 divisions and I Corp. The 7th Infantry and the 1st Cav! Kind of a strange unit number. He must be attached to some division!
8. Unfortunately, your not supposed to know. My suspicion is that he is in a forward position somewhere like Iraq, of Afghanistan. Keep writing though maybe you will get a hint. There are family support groups that know about this sort of thing. Try to speak to a chaplain at his last known base to get in touch with mothers wives etc. Stay well, keep busy.
