Is there any way to find a tracking number for USPS once you've thrown away the slip?

I accidentally threw away my tracking number on a package I shipped more than a week ago. Now the guy has opened a dispute through paypal because he hasnt recieved his package yet. Is there anything I can do?

1. Your receipt from USPS includes the tracking number. If you still have the receipt, then you can get your tracking number. The tracking number is printed above the name of the place/zip code and the amount paid Otherwise, there's nothing USPS can do. I've lost packages to my eBay buyers and USPS were not able to find them even with the tracking number. In one case, the tracking number showed that the post office received it, and then nothing -- where it went after I brought it to the PO. If they can't find a package with a tracking number, so much more for a package WITHOUT a tracking number. Go find your receipt. Sometimes I scan the receipt and send it to the buyer as proof that I've sent the package
