Do You Approve of Bush opening private U.S. Mail? Doesn't it violate the Constitution and our postal laws?

Republican Senator Sue Collins is reported to be upset that Bush is trying to get away with this, after Bush attached a statement to her postal protection law. Bush's illegal activiy is not what the Republican Senator intended with her postal bill, and she wants to know what Bush is up to and why. Collins responded, "The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 and our federal criminal rules require prior judicial approval before domestic sealed mail can be searched," she said. As reported by AP: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070105/ap_on_go_pr_wh/opening_the_mail Yes, I did read the disclaimer by Bush, about 'not changing existing laws, etc.' but we all know Bush has lied to his country and to his party before, so why beleive him now -- it's another 'just trust me on this', moment for Bush and his gang. Please note that it's Republican Senators who are angry this time -- when will some of you wake up, if ever?

1. that's just idiotic that he would do that. there must be laws protecting it and tampering with the mail is a federal offense anyways isn't it? not to mention no one is above the law. not even the president. thats how dictators are born.

5. Bush and the administration are changing the laws, in ways which he thinks is for the protection of the country. Whether it's in our best interests is up to the people to decide.

7. No I don't approve. Yes it does violate laws (or did, rather). If you think that's bad, you should read the Patriot Act (warrentless secret searches, phone and Internet surveillance, library records, people can be incarcerated without charges.)
8. When will it end? How can anyone approve of this? Those who come here and feed us that useless line "unless you are a terrorist you dont have anything to worry about" need to be the first locked away. As crooked as this administration has turned out to be i dont trust them at all.
