Is this a scam? And if so How would they be scamming me?
I posted a nintendo wii on criagslist for the price of $400 with all its games. And this is a reply i got after i said the item was available. Nice hearing back from you , I would be happy to purchase it from you. I'm shipping this international to my fiance, and I think it would be less costly if we could ship it straight from you to him. I'm ready to pay you the total amount of $550,for the item including the shipping fees ,via USPS EXPRESS MAIL INTERNATIONAL(EMS) and i will pay you via paypal if that would be acceptable. Please reply and include your paypal email address if you are interested. Thank you and God Bless Then i gave her my paypal email and i got a letter in my email that said i have new funds on paypal. It was from her and it was $550. I looked toward the bottom and it said Note: This has been deducted from the buyers account and has been approved but will not be deposited until the shipment reference/tracking number is sent to us. Then i looked up USPS postal service rates and to ship it the way she wanted it was $135.25. It was weird because i had another email almost the same on the 2nd reply i stated. She wants me to ship it to nigeria by the way, and ive heard of a lot of nigerian scams. So am i getting scammed here?

- Sure sounds like it, I'd back off.
- It's a scam.. deal local on craig's list.
- To good to be true...
- Sounds like a scam. Besides why would you release merchandise that you had not received payment for. The system is also not likely to work overseas as the electric supply is most probably not the same. Keep the game and look for a new buyer
- its a scam for sure
- Nigeria is the world capitol of scams; never get in touch with anybody from there.
- Absolutely!! I wouldn't do it. If they want to send it internationally, have them bring you cash and ship it herself!
- this sounds so familiar but i can't quite grasp it. I just watched this on TV. Tell her you will ship it WHEN you receive the FULL amount and not before. (I do mean when you have CASH) It's a tricky little thing which is why I can't figure it (I just watched this!!!!!) I know you don't get the money tho! And no one can take offence at me stating that Nigeria is the number one capital for scamming (sorry about the caps)
- You can ship it to me :) At least then the person who was trying to rip you off wouldn't make a profit off of it.
- Nigeria? Forget it! To enter the reference/tracking number you would already have sent it and then you would find out that the 'buyer' is a fake without sufficient funds anyway. These have been common ways of scamming people for years and is just another Nigerian scammer.
- ITS SCAM!!! I WAS TRYING TO SELL A CAMCORDER FOR A 100 BUCKS AND THEY OFFERED ME $550 BECAUSE THE PERSON WANTED TO GIVE IT TO THERE NEPHEW. WE TOLD THEM TO DO PAYPAL AND THEY NEVER RESPONDED AGAIN THIS IS PURE SCAM
- If I buy something, I won't pay until the stuff is shipped and the seller won't shipped until he is paid. So I don't think this will work. There are no trust between the two of you. Everyone is afraid to get scam.
