How come the system won't recognise my postal code?

I live in the United States and am trying to register a new yahoo email address, but the system won't recognise my post office address or any US postal zipcode for that matter. The screen shows that I live in the USA and I entered a USA zipcode. So what's the problem? How come it won't allow me to get another email address?

1. try deleting COOKIES .Yahoo thrives on them, collecting as much info as possible .Delete the things , then give another try
2. because you probably have sweaty palms.try washing your hands and drying them then try again.
