What is the safest of these majors in the next 10 years as far as employment opportunities and job security?
Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management and Organization, Management Information Systems. I am a business major and these are my choices. Without including what I enjoy the most, I want to know what is most secure for job opportunities, best paying, etc. You can either rank them, go into a little depth on each one, or just your overall input. Thank you very much!

- Accounting is the safest, but I would take a course before you decide. All business majors generally get fairly good jobs--it depends on where you live plus your own initiative.
- The safest is probably Accounting. The least safe is probably Marketing. (The first thing you do to save money is advertise less) Economics and Finance should also be in high demand. Management will go in and out, though there is a lot more potential for income. so still, Accounting. Companies (and individuals) always need Accountants and Factor Brokers.
- I'm an Accounting major, and I'm constantly being told that if I get my CPA, I will never be out of a job. Accountants also generally get paid quite well. As an Accounting major, I have to take marketing, management, and various finance courses in addition to the accounting. It's kind of the umbrella degree for the business major, and I've found that it gives me more overall knowledge of business rather than the specialization found in management, marketing, etc.
