Can USPS Employees smoke while on the job?
Curious if any one knows if USPS workers can smoke while delivering mail? For the last few weeks, all of our mail has had a smokey smell to it. Today she was driving here little USPS and puffing away on her smokes. Is this allowed? Hi Meow. Please stick to the question!!! My mail smelling like smoke is an issue for me. I don't smoke and do not care to smell it! I feel I'm not alone in this as nearly EVERYWHERE is now non-smoking!! Please stay on topic!

- Ha I would def say a big fat no to that. I wonder if her supervisor is aware of that. If it really bothers you call up your local office and complain. My guess is little miss puff puff would not be puffing anymore
- You have OCD dude. You probably cant catch your breath when you see somebody walking across the street smoking a cigarette, huh. Not to sound rude, but mind your own business. Leave people alone.
- No. My dad is a Postal Employee, and that is totally not allowed. Just think about it... with all that mail around... what is she thinking?
- No they should not smoke. Just call the Postmaster and they will handle the issue. No one should have their stuff smelling like smoke when it arrives.
- All USPS Mail Truck and Mail Carriers are allowed to smoke while in their Trucks. It is in the union agreement. They are federal employees and are not governed by state or city laws.
