Why aren't US Postal Service vehicles required to have license plates?
I recently noticed that the truck bringing our mail did not have a license plate, but just an identifying number painted on the back. Since then I have noticed that no US Postal Service vehicles have license plates. Other federal government vehicles have license plates - why not these?

- They are government vehicles and are exempt from having license plates.
- if you notice..Federal government vehicles with unit number and who they belong to all over the vehicle do not have license plates as the numbers on them tell you who and where they belong to (another reason the armed forces don't run plates on some vehicles) Mainly vehicles that don't have the markings run the license plates... So technically.. all are running some sort of plate.. just not a normal one :-)
