What's the difference between - Antivirus and Virus Protection?

Any Difference? And I'm planning to uninstall avast antivirus because i already have McAfee Virus Protection but I'm not very sure yet. avast antivirus automatically tells me if what I'm download is spyware/adware/virus but with McAfee, you have to scan it but it doesnt detect as much. Should I uninstall avast Antivirus?

1. NO get rid of McAfee right away!!!!! That is the worst ever! next to Norton in my opinion Avast is better because it alerts you BEFORE you download the virus it did yesterday stopped me from going on a page with a Trojan Horse! :D
2. Same thing, different way of putting it. I'd prefer to have Avast to McAfee. The main thing is not to have two anti-virus programs running at the same time, there's a good chance they will clash with one another and cause problems.
