What is not allowed to be shipped at the post office?
I also want to know if there is a limit on the amount that your allowed to ship in one day because I'm going to start an ebay business and plan on shipping around 50 items a day. What is the best way to do this because the things that I'm selling are fairly large (about 12x12x36) and I would have to make multiple trips to the post office in order to ship them all. Thanks for your help!

- There is no limit to how much can be shipped. Talk to your local post office about arranging a pickup: http://www.usps.com/faqs/pickup-faqs.htm If you mean what types of items are not allowed to be shipped, that information is also available at your local post office. In general, you can't ship hazardous or perishable items, or anything that is unsafely packaged.
- I'm assuming you're in the UK, but even if you're not arrangements are pretty similar, I'm sure. If you're sending a lot, you can get in touch with Royal Mail to arrange for a postman to collect from your property at the end of each day, but there is a fee for this, although its probably not much of your potential profit if you're sending 50 items a day. There are no restrictions on the amount you can send, except the PO staff may just get a little fed up of you. See here: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump2?catId=400040&mediaId=4800036 As for restrictions, its basically anything illegal, obscene, harmful, corrosive or otherwise dangerous. Also make sure its very well wrapped to prevent anything coming loose during transit. Anything sharp must be extremely well padded. I've handled mail that I've injured myself on, and we don't take kindly to that at all. Also bear in mind that if its going abroad it will be affected by the destination country's Customs restrictions (mail is examined on arrival into a country), and by ICAO restrictions of what can be carried on an aircraft.
