how much does it cost you to add tracking number at USPS?

1. it's free. USPS tracking sucks though.
2. ~~Actually, you must use a special form for a tracking number and it is a small fee. However, their tracking system is nothing like UPS or FEDEX. It pretty much will only tell you it started shipping, and not much else until it is finally delivered. If you want confirmation it was delivered, it is worth it. If you want to have it to watch the progress, it's worthless.~~
