Can someone please help me write an impressive cover letter for a Fedex kinko's office position?
I've never had to write a cover letter before. I don't have much experience that has to do with this job.But if this helps my experience is with customer service. And I have basic computer skills. thanks!

- First of all: KISS principle Keep It Simple. The first thing is the date..upper right The company address and the person it is addressed to if you know their name, is the next thing, so they know it is meant for them. Then what it is about, "Application for Employment" (I suggest caps or bold type here) Then the position being applied for. Then should be your name, phone number and a short list of skills. ~bullets are fine and details are not needed. those are all covered inside. so something like, "Experience in customer service with computer skills." would likely do. You could put that as two bullets if you wanted. Then a thank you for considering my application Your name and your phone number again. ------------- Every sheet of your application should have your name and number on it in case sheets get separated. The top right corner is the common location here. The cover letter has only one job. When they pick up the application from the pile on their desk they should know what they have in their hand with one glance down the page. Who it is for, what it is, who it is from and what it is about. Some people put the name before the job description but I think it is a mistake If you can see what formatting the job and your name in bold looks like try that. Those are the two most important pieces of information on the page after the fact that it is a job application. If you are writing it by hand because they want to see your writing skills it is all the same idea. Clear and simple communication.
