I'm going to have an interview for a postal office job. Need Advise?
I was disable about 11 mo. due to a car accident. I had knee surgery, but I'm better now. If they ask me about my disability should I say that I had knee surgery or what? Would they not hired me if I say the truth. Would this keep me from getting a job as a mail courier?

- Tell the truth no matter what. If you lie and they find out, it will be even worse for you.
- If you're truly better, there's no reason to tell them. They only need to know about medical conditions that would hinder your performance, and former knee surgery should not do this. Don't give them any reason to choose that other resume if you don't have to. Employers aren't supposed to make decisions based on such criteria... but they do.
- They may ask if you have anything that might keep you from performing the job duties. Your answer would be NO. Because you said you were better now. Do not Volunteer Any Information. Just answer the question they ask, and leave it to that. Dress with long sleeves and have your shirt in with a belt. Be well groomed such as brushing teeth, washing hair.Do not chew gum. I have read, if you wear a soft pink shirt you will get the job. This has worked for me. It is a psychology thing.
- Tell the truth if they ask you about your injury. My husband applied for and got a job with the USPS a few months after suffering a leg injury that made him lose about a month of work. When they asked him if he had any accidents or injuries, he was up front about his leg, and, after getting a doctor to sign a statement saying that he was healed and fit for work, everything was cool!
