When people quote the Daily Mail, do you start wondering if they're racist?
It's a terribly prejudiced assumption to make, to be sure, but does anyone else find themselves doing it?

- Its a very over used cliche on here, any one with right wing views is a "Daily Mail reader". If you believe that the Daily Mail is racist you've obviously never met a real racist.
- Well, the Daily Mail has set it's stall out as being very right-wing, without edging into Nazi-ism. So I guess most people who read it for the newspapers political alignment are at least a tiny-bit racist!
- Id be more alarmed if they quoted The Sun!
- "Wondering"? It's pretty much a given. To be fair, most of them are the harmless (ish) sheep types who believe anything that's written in print and is ratified by somebody in a tie... Not at all the type of person associated with the BNP...
- All the time, unfortuntately. But I don't think a lot of its readers actually realise how offensive the paper is to someone like me, albeit a second generation immingrant. How that newspaper has never been banned or at least fined I'll never know.
- You have racism in the brain.
- Reading the Daily Mail doesn't mean your a racist, it means you lean towards the right. Papers like the Daily Mail print stories that matter to working class people, they might mention issues that are non-pc but i think we need more of that. Liberalism is destroying this country and we need an opposing voice to balance things out.
- I read the Daily Mail, The Times and The Star (just to add The Star is the best for the football)!! You can't pre-judge people on what they read, I personally never believe everything I read in any paper, if they said it was raining I would see check for myself!! Everyone is prejudiced about someone or something though that's just human nature it's how you treat people that matters.
- As much as if the Guardian is quoted I think they are gay liberals - despite the fact that I read the Guardian & I'm not gay & not a liberal.
- I don't think that's true as people will always find a quote to hold up their argument. Regardless where it's from
- the Daily Mail has long history of being a reactionary right-wing paper.the grandfather of it's owner Lord Rothermere, was a big fan of the British Union of Fascists, leader Sir Oswald Mosley & his Blackshirted militia. now famous headlines have included 'hooray for the Blackshirts'. the Mail carries a lot of stories about pre-war British ruling class involvement with the Nazi's.that's why it's probably widely read by the toffs.
- It's truer to say that while not everybody who bothers with the Mail is an out-and-out racist, a very high percentage of out-and-out racists prefer the Mail to proper newspapers.
