Postal Letter

Please help me my mailman is lazy?

I have an iron gate across my driveway at my house. There is a bell approximately 7 feet from the curb. I have a mailman that uses my gate as an excuse to never a tempt to deliver a package. He fills out his delivery slip and leaves. On numerous occasions I have been at home, or even in my yard. In total disgust I have contacted the post office delivery supervisors. Here are if you of the reasons I have been given as to their employee’s lack of motivation. 1.You have a gate. 2.Do you have dogs? 3.Your mailbox is more than 3 inches from the curb. 4.He didn't think you were home. 5.Can't you pick up your own mail(hello it is approximately 20 miles round-trip) The problem is you have to ring the bell in order to alarm anyone you are there. Yesterday I observed that jerk so I pushed the remote, and about 45 seconds may be one minute past and he drove away. I called the post office, maybe he didn't see you, and maybe he didn't see the gate open, even though he was sitting right next to it. So I instructed the supervisor just have him leave it tomorrow. Today it's not here, I called back the same supervisor proceeds to tell me the mailman just drove away when he saw my gate open because I didn't walk out there. When I asked why he didn’t come to my door, he stated he is scared to come to your door. Give me a break US Postal Service it's threatening to that lazy mail deliver you have. The truth is you have a very juvenile old man that is kicked off because I complained about his lazy behind. Once again today I was asked can you come pick it up. What the hell for, why should I do the mailman's job? Can somebody please tell me if you have had similar experiences and what to do? Unfortunately the postmaster is as big of a joke as the mail deliver. I live in Northern California These people want a raise, is this supposed to be a bad joke? My mailbox is at the curb following the government's guidelines about mailbox placement. My gate has a 20 foot setback; approximately 7 feet from the curb is a bell that rings in my house. If the mailman were to walk to push the bell out my front door it would be approximately 159 feet to the front door. You'd think the lazy man would be willing to walk 7 feet to ring the bell, “WRONG” He never attempts to make a contact, he simply writes out a delivery notice pertaining to the package / letter places it in the mailbox and leaves I have no dogs in my yard EVER If I were not a home, I would not open the gate. “He didn’t think you were at home,” doesn’t fly! The mailman is supposed to attempt delivery unless it is unsafe. How come I get UPS, FED EX, DHL AT LEAST 2 TIMES A MONTH WITH NO PROBLEMS???

  1. No
  2. I went almost 2 weeks without getting mail because there is snow and ice on the ground, even though I cleaned and sanded my walk as best as possible. They will use any excuse not to deliver. ∠°)
  3. Wow! thats horrible. I think your best bet is contact a congressman or state representative. The post office is getting more horrid all the time. Mine comes whenever he feels like it-morning 11am or after dark at almost 6pm. We never know when he's coming-its mobile home park-gated and Iam afraid to complain-they have ways of 'punishing' you. So, I don't say anything. Kill them with kindness. Well, I suggest you start leaving him little boxes of candy etc. this is the only thing that will work, I think for you-complaining is making them more stubborn and mean. They can be mean on purpose, too. He doesn't even try to deliver your mail. So, change tactics-befriend him with cookies etc. Really, Iam not kidding-he might feel guilty for treating someone as nice as yourself so mean, and, start going the extra mile for you. Change the way you respond to him-could change your mail service. Try it and I wish you the best. Yes, I leave candy for my stupid, mean mailman and smile. He never knows-how I really feel about him-I just want my mail. Bribery works-he goes out of his way for me,now.
  4. he is probably some paranoid psycho that is afraid of having the gate close while he is delivering a package to your door and he wont be able to get out. try establishing a relationship of some kind with him so he feels more comfortable about approaching you and your house to avoid any further inconveniences.
  5. Your mail box is your responsibility and it should be at the end of your drive way.Not inside the gate.If the gate is closed and locked you want them to come in and deliver your stuff to the door? Every other person has a mail box where the mail man puts the mail in the box and then the person who lives there picks it up.The mail man should go up the drive way if he has a package for yo,He is to knock on the door or he can sit in the vehicle and beep,They do that if a dog is around. If no one answers the door or comes out then he will leave a yellow slip in the mail box saying you have a package at the Post office. You should always talk to the Postmaster when calling the Post office.
  6. I think the next step is to call your alderman.
  7. There are guidelines for placing mailboxes at your premises. No mailman should have to ring for you unless its special delivery that requires a signature, or a large package. I see in places where the mailbox is "miles" from the house and delivery is effected.
