  1. No, you can't buy sterling drafts in the Republic of Ireland - you can only buy sterling drafts in the UK. You can go a bank and they should have an international draft you can use to buy goods from the UK but they usually charge quite a bit. If the vendor is selling goods in the Republic of Ireland they should offer an alternative means of buying - you should also be able to pay them using an Irish postal order in Euro. Contact the seller and ask if they will accept an Irish postal order.
  2. No, you can't buy sterling postal orders in Ireland, but the banks supply sterling drafts. In your position, I would ask a friend or relative in UK (even in NI) to buy and mail the postal order to the seller for me, and I would pay them in euro. Chances are, that friend or relative would be either planning a visit to Ireland or Europe sometime soon, needing euro, and £6 isn't a huge amount to ask for. If the item were to be £5 or £10, another alternative would be to buy the sterling note in any bank, and send it off by registered mail. But the banks don't do sterling coins, to make up other amounts.
