How long does it take for US Postal Service deliver "Priority Mail" ?

- 3 - 5 days depending on location
- What they are now calling Priority Mail is just regular mail. Its no different than if you were to send it out from your mailbox at home. Depending on where it's going, I would say 3-5 days for the Continental US.
- It will reach its destination in approximately never. I would not trust US Postal Service, after I needed a college transcipt sent to Purdue University. I sent it Priority Mail, which was supopsed to take 1-2 business days. Everytime I checked the status it said it had not been received yet. So after a week I went to the postal service office, who informed me the letter had not been sent yet. So I waited another week, not sent, and yet another, still not sent. I asked if I could get a refund for my $4.63 and believe it or not they told me I would not be refunded my money because "there is no guarantee on priority mail." So basically I could have sent it regular mail and it would have got there for $0.42 However I ended up paying $5 for a very important document that never made it to its destnation. I was never given reason nor a refund, even after they had me consult the post master for the office. So where is my mail 6 months later? They have no idea, last time I checked they had it located in North Carolina (I'm sorry I thought Purdue was in Indiana?) US Mail is a ridiculous waste of time, I would stick to FEDEX, or a trustworthy private company.
- I've ordered a lot of stuff via priority mail over the years. According to the post office, priority mail is treated the same as first class mail. I'm in California and almost every time things get here in 2 -3 days (not counting Sunday and holidays), once in awhile 4 days. If you need to know for sure when the mail arrives (and that it did arrive), send 'return receipt requested'. Even this does not make it easily traced, that's another option. I've had things go wrong with every brand of delivery service (UPS, Fed-Ex, SBC, USPS), and I have to say the U.S. Post Office has done BY FAR the best job overall.
