USPS failed to deliver a parcel to my UK address (60 days wait).How long does it take for the insurance claim?

I have been waiting for a parcel from the US sent via USPS to my UK address. It has already been 60 days and the sender can file the item as 'lost'. I would like to know if anyone has had the misfortune of a missing parcel and how long does it take for insurance claims to be processed and the refund to be made? Thank you.

1. If the sender had insurance, then they probably have a tracking number. Have they given you the tracking number, and what does usps.com website say about package status?
2. With international deliveries, it can take four weeks once the claim gets processed. The sender has to file the claim, and they can only collect IF they bought insurance. And I believe you have to send global priority, and they will check with customs to see if the package entered the UK.
